  • Tune Description

    Road and Trail:      87 OR BETTER OCTANE FUEL

     This tune is designed for Road and Trail riding. FCP has had more and more customers asking for a good tune they can use in their street legal Talons. They wanted smooth take off, smooth shifts but still perform well when out playing in the trails. There was also an interest in wanting a tune they could still run 87 octane fuel. They wanted to help keep the heat down as well. This tune may not be as sporty as the rest of the tunes but don’t mistake it for a slouch. So, what you get is a smooth take off, smooth shifts, very versatile, outperforms stock tuning, and is great tune for those times you just can’t find premium fuel.

     

    Rock Crawler Tune:   91 OR BETTER OCTANE FUEL

     This tune was designed to have optimum clutch engagement on take-off (to help have a smoother power transfer to the wheels) to aid getting over blunt objects, Clutch calibrations for shifts were to allow for smooth shifts at light throttle but the more aggressive you are, the more aggressive the shift firmness become, the steady pressure was added to the clutches so when they are fully engaged they will have much more holding power especially when climbing over something or up a hill. All these clutch calibrations were done to limit slip time in those high demanding situations to help keep clutches cooler and improve clutch life.

     

    Hot Trail Tune:       91 OR BETTER OCTANE FUEL

     This tune was designed for those times you want to just flat out haul ass through the woods, it is a great all-around tune because while it gets sporty when in the throttle hard it also can be tame when you are in those slower paced trails. It does well in any situation you throw at it. By far the most versatile tune that FCP produces and is great in about any build or situation. It is by far our number one seller.

     

    Mud & Sand Tune:     91 OR BETTER OCTANE FUEL

     This tune was designed for riding in thick sand or mud. The overall demand on your SXS is much higher than typical trail riding. It is slow paced with a high load. They tend to want to hunt for gears, run hot and lack that low end torque that is needed. A lot of this type of riding generally is in a SXS that has much more aggressive, heavier and larger tires often with portals. All this including the terrain is just much more taxing on the engine, cooling system, clutches and performance. Keeping all this in mind I wanted to keep this a trail tune.

     

    Tough Mudder Tune:       91 OR BETTER OCTANE FUEL

      That name says it all! This tune was built for the bounty hole! This tune was not built to be a trail tune. A lot of time went into research and development to get the calibrations of the engine, transmission and clutch optimized for this type of riding. There was a need to develop this tune keeping in mind those big buggies with Portal Gear Reduction, Internal Gear Reduction, Big Lifts, Big Tires. If you got a straight up mud buggy, big tires and got mud running through your veins this is your tune for rowdy nights or bounty hole domination!

     

      All FCP tuning comes with reverse shifting in auto mode. This makes it nice having to back out a long trail, in those situations backing up a slick hill or getting out in a mud hole it will shift gears and getting some much-needed wheel spin (Especially in those builds with a lot of gear reduction). Manual mode will give you much more control than factory, it will allow you to upshift earlier and hold the gear you selected. The only time it will down shift is when you come under 15 mph in 6th gear and then it will continue to downshift as you slowdown from there till it reaches first gear. This feature is nice when cruising as it won't downshift when you let off the throttle eliminating engine braking. So, you get full control of your shifts up and down.

  • What is the I-4WD Master switch off option for?

    Some still have random power loss when under hard loads even with the bypass switch installed for I-4wd. When Master switch is off in the ECU tuning, it has shown to stop the random power loss. But this also turns off the factory i-4wd switch so it will no longer work and you will need to use bypass switch from then on to lock it into 4x4.
